Apple wants to slow down older iPhones with iOS 9, New lawsuit claims

You may become astonished after reading the headline of this news that Apple is playing a deceptive trick with its consumers to force them out to upgrade a newer iphone. Apple has allegedly put some hidden code in iOS 9 that is damaging iPhone 4S's of a large number of people.

A new lawsuit is demanding Million US $ in damages from the famous electronics company Apple for intentionally slowing down the performance of legacy iPhones. The plaintiff claims that Apple has been engaging in a notorious business activity of purposely slowing down 100 members’ iPhone 4S’s.

After upgrading on iOS 9, these iPhone 4S’s have apparently become so much slow and they have becoming unusable day by day. Both first and third-party app are showing significantly longer loading delays with reported freezing and crashing as well.

This bogging down of software performance is said to encourage users to upgrade their old devices to newer iPhones.

The lawsuit continues by also claiming false advertisement from the installation notes for the new update. While these notes mention faster performance, enhanced security, longer battery life, and new app features, these same notes lack a warning of possible compatibility issues on older devices like the iPhone 4S.

The same lawsuit is aimed at Apple’s ecosystem saying that rather than upgrading to another phone OS, Apple’s business structure of apps and music is more likely to keep people from jumping ship to avoid losing the investments of money spent on apps and music.

New York District Court Judge Sterling Johnson, Jr. is presiding over this case. No hearings have been set at this time.

Remember that Apple has also faced a similar accusations in the year 2011 from plaintiffs in a complaint which had claimed that iOS 4 turned their iPhone 3G into "iBricks." The case was tossed a year later, though the topic of planned obsolescence continues to crop up with nearly every significant Apple release.
